The National Ride and Show Association (NRSA)
The purpose of NRSA is offer year-end awards to its members who show and do recreational riding. The goal is to encourage and reward the onging use of horses during a time when economic challenges have shrunk many horse owner's pocket books to the point that they can no longer justify running a breed or discipline approved circuit.
NRSA allows you the freedom to show any level of horse show you choose from breed approved Class A shows to open/4-H shows. They can be any show discipline including halter, western, english, speed events, competitive/organized trail rides, dressage, and driving, etc.
All you do is sign yourself and your horse up, pay your annual $35 NRSA registration fee, and meet the basic requirements for the NRSA Regular Circuit (3 horse shows and 300 hours of recreational horseback riding) and you will receive an NRSA Circuit year-end plaque.
For those who are a little more competitive NRSA offers its Top Ten awards in four exhibitor age divisions. The NRSA Top Ten Circuit requires an adiditonal $15 registration fee; exhibitors then compete in 5 horse shows and accumulate 500 recreational hourse in the saddle. Exhibitors in the Top Ten of their age division will receive a NRSA Top Ten year-end plaque and will have the option of purchasing an award trophy buckle.
